Situated on the west shore of Georgian Bay, the intention for this beach house was to create spaces that promote a connection with the outdoors, while maintaining privacy for the residents. Architecturally this was accomplished by making sure, at each step of the way, views, privacy, day lighting and natural ventilation were considered. Architectural features, such as strategically placed windows, screens, and landscaping elements all reinforced the client’s vision.
Outdoor living spaces, such as decks, terraces, and patios, were meticulously planned to encourage a seamless transition from the interior to the exterior, allowing the residents to make use, year-round, of their stunning site.
Extensive landscaping played a crucial role in shaping the outdoor living experience. Carefully selected native plants, a chef’s garden, and serene pathways were arranged to create a visual and physical link between the beach house and the water. These elements not only enhanced the visual appeal but also provided a tranquil environment for relaxation and reflection.
